Mariajuana

The best known and consumed drug in the world, cannabis, is a herbaceous plant. Commonly used in the form of cigarettes,has varied effects and cause addiction. Brings feeling of well-being and calmness, but reacts to adverse forms depending on the user's body.
Among the damage: low immunity, bronchitis, asthma and loss of reflexes. Beyond addiction, can cause tolerance, causing the user to use the drug in larger quantities

The effects shortly after smoking a marijuana cigarette, they are (can be different depending on the amount of THC):

euphoria, drowsiness, feelings of happiness
spontaneous laughter, for no reason
loss of sense of time, space, etc.
loss of motor coordination, balance, speechetc.
speeding up of heart (tachycardia)
temporary loss of wit
hunger, red eye, and other features

The time of the effect depends on how marijuana is used. If it is smoked, THC will quickly to the brain, and the effect lasts approximately 5:0. If swallowed, the effect takes to come (about 1:0) but lasts approximately 12:0.

The plant

Herbaceous plant in hot and humid climate, originally from India, marijuana (Cannabis sativa) belongs to the familyMoraceae and can reach up to 5 feet tall. Has typed sheets and small, yellow flowers and fragrance-free. It is a plant dioicawhich features female flowers with stems and stalks with male flowers. The fact that the plant has stems with flowersdifferent influences on harvest, because male flowers cakes faster, dying after flowering, while the female inflorescencesremain with a dark green color until a month after flowering, when the seeds ripen. When fertilization does not occur fromfemale flowers, they excrete large amounts of sticky resin composed of dozens of different substances. The fruit of themarijuana is greenish-yellow, small, oval-shaped and contains an acidic substance which serves as food for some species ofbirds.

The first reports of this weed in Brazil dates back to the 18TH century when it was used for the production of fibers calledcânhamos. Such fibers were obtained through various processes, including desfolhamento, drying, crushing and stirring that separate the fibers of the wood. These strong and durable fibers were used as ship sails for centuries and until today are used in ropes, cables, sponges, tissues and yarns. The seeds with lots of protein and carbohydrates are used in domesticbirds and feed on cereals and granolas. The oil extracted from the seeds are paints, varnishes, SOAP and edible oil.

Marijuana substances

The marijuana plant contains more than 400 chemicals, of which 60 are classified in the category of canabinoides, according to the National Institute of health. The tetra-hidrocarbinol (THC) is one of those canabinoides and is the substance mostassociated with the effects that marijuana produces in the brain. The concentration of THC in the plant depends on a fewfactors, such as soil, climate, season, harvest time, elapsed between harvesting and use, planting conditions, plant genetics,post-harvest processing, etc., so the effects can vary greatly from one plant to another.

In short-and long-term effects

After consuming cannabis, the person can present some physical effects, such as impaired memory, confusion between past, present and future, heightened senses, but with little balance and muscle strength, loss of coordination, increased heart rate,distorted perception, anxiety, reddish eyes because of the dilation of blood vessels eyes, dry mouth and difficulty withthoughts and troubleshooting.

People who smoke marijuana are also susceptible to the same problems of people who smoke tobacco, such as asthma,emphysema, bronchitis and cancer.

Medicinal uses

In the past centuries, the marijuana was used, naChina, as an anesthetic, analgesic, antidepressant, sedative and antibiotic.The herb was cited in the first Pharmacopoeia (book bringing together formulas and recipes for medicines) known in the world, about 2 thousand years ago, recommending its use for constipation, malaria, rheumatism and menstrual pains. In the 19th century, some people began to use it in the treatment of gonorrhea and angina.
Currently, many believe that the negative effects of marijuana far outweigh its positive effects, but many harmful effects ofmarijuana remain inconclusive. For this reason, some people are asking for it to be legalized in order to be used as amedicine in the treatment of some diseases, such as cancer and AIDS (combat nausea and stimulates the appetite), glaucoma (relieves eye pressure), epilepsy (prevents seizures) and multiple sclerosis (reduces muscle spasms).

In some u.s. States, the medicinal use of marijuana has been legalized.

Dependency

After all, marijuana or not cause dependence?
Many studies are being made about this subject, but still not known for sure if marijuana or not cause dependency. Because of the difficulty of quantifying the marijuana that reaches the bloodstream, there is no formal doses of THC that cause addiction. It is believed that dependence increases as the period of use.

Studies show that some users who make use of marijuana on a daily basis do not develop the habit, while others maydevelop a syndrome compulsive usage similar to the dependence on other drugs.

You cannot yet determine the nature of the withdrawal symptoms from marijuana.

According to the American Drug Enforcement Administration, prolonged consumption of marijuana can cause damage to the lungs and reproductive system.

How do I know if my son is using marijuana?
There are certain symptoms that can be perceived. Those who are drugged with marijuana can:
· Appear to be dizzy and with some difficulty to walk;
· Seems to be laughing too much or no reason;
· Red-eyed and angry; and
· Difficulty remembering how things happened.
When the first effects disappear after a few hours, the person may feel very sleepy.
Although it is difficult to distinguish in adolescents, parents have attentive to changes in their behavior.
Should try to figure out if your child moves away from everyone, if you're depressed, if you have fatigue, if you don't mind your personal appearance, if hostile, or if their relationships with family and friends have deteriorated.
There may also be changes in academic performance, school absence, less interest in the sport and for other favorite activities, or change in food habits or asleep. All this can indicate drug use, although not in all cases.

Parents must also be pending:
· Things that might indicate the use of drugs, such as pipes, or papers for rolling cigarettes;
· The smell of clothes;
· The use of incense and deodorant of environment;
· The use of eye drops for the eyes;
· There are clothes, posters, jewelry, etc., which promote the use of drugs;
· Increased appetite (sweet);
· A disturbance in the perception of time and space;
· Anhedonia-loss of pleasure in activities common;

How to approach a user of marijuana?
It's not a lecture or with aggression that tackles a dependent. Realism and objectivity are essential. At this point, the user needs to face their limits, knowing the rules, schedules, tasks, and his duties towards his family, which has an important role.The family counseling clarifies and assists in the best way to deal with the user, you need to get help. If this does not occur,do not force a situation. But remember: a good conversation and a friendly attitude, certainly, can save a life.

What happens after a person smokes marijuana?
Almost immediately after inhaling marijuana, one can feel, intoxication, dry mouth, accelerated heart beats, difficulties in the coordination of movement and balance, and slowed reflexes or reactions. Blood vessels of the eyes expand, so arereddish.
In some people, the pot increases the blood pressure and can even duplicate the heart rate. This effect can increase when you mix other drugs with marijuana; something that is not always the smoker can be sure what is after 2 or 3:0, the person may feel very sleepy.

What happens in the body
The active substance of plant, THC, acts on the brain in 20 minutes
1. After being hit, the drug leads to the lungs toxins such as tar, that affect the respiratory system, and THC, which followsinto the bloodstream
2. Part of the THC reaches the stomach, liver and then to the kidneys and is eliminated through urine
2A. Another part reaches the spleen; It is believed that the THC reduces the production of lymphocytes and weaken thebody's defense system
2B. There are researches that point reduction by the THC levels of the male sex hormone testosterone, causing temporaryinfertility
3. The brain, between the various substances known as receptors, there is one that is activated by THC
3A. In the cerebellum, which regulates the balance, posture and motor coordination, the THC causes lethargy, reducedcontrol of movements and spatial and temporal disorientation
3B. In the hippocampus, the THC reduces the activity of neurons related to short-term memory
3 c. in the cerebral cortex, which governs the perception by the senses, THC can promote transitional changes in sensationsby touch, sight and sound

4. The THC stimulates also the increase in the production of serotonin, a substance that promotes feeling of pleasure.

Skank:
The Supermaconha

Cannabis sativa is the most widespread species of cannabis in the world, although other species of the same genus-theCannabis indica and ruderalis, for example-are also used in the manufacture of the drug. The skank is a genetic variation,produced in the laboratory, marijuana plant, which grows faster and can therefore be grown in greenhouses (more hiddensurveillance). Its main feature is the fact that contain up to seven times greater amount of THC (the active ingredient) thanmarijuana common.
