What is the most widely produced and trafficked illicit substance in the world?

What is the most widely produced and trafficked illicit substance in the world?

Well,According to a survey conducted by the UN, cannabis is the illegal substance most widely produced, trafficked andconsumed worldwide, surpassing cocaine, that has always been at the top of the list.

Obviously, as there is no control, it is not possible to arrive at an exact number, but it is estimated that between 119 and224 million people smoke weed every once in a while, counting only those over the age of 18 years. Besides, there are nosigns that indicate that the popularity of cannabis will fall in the coming years. The plant is consumed in some way in allcountries and its consumption is growing in most of them. The number of users has stabilized in North America, both the u.s. and Canada, and Oceania, but the numbers are on the rise in North Africa and South Africa, in South and Southeast Asiaand Central and South America.

In 2010, Australia and New Zealand occupied the first place in the ranking of countries with the largest number ofconsumers, with the USA and Canada in second place followed by Spain, France, Italy and the Czech Republic third. Nigeria,Zambia and Madagascar are together in fourth position.

The UN study also noted changes in some social standards. Some interesting highlights: the European market is leaving aside the cannabis resin  the hashish, chocolate, Robinho or whatever you want to call. -and consuming more grass itself, which is more popular in America. Already in Afghanistan, which always emerged as a major producer of heroin andopiates, today has the most lucrative illicit business as marihuana. And the good news for those of us who don't tire ofreiterating that even though users are against trafficking; the seed market grew almost imensurávelmente (no numbers)between 2008 and 2010, with nearly 200 different brands available online. In other words, besides consuming more, the people are planting more. That's good news!

The survey also concluded that cannabis is becoming more powerful in developed countries. The popularization ofhydroponic cultivation allows the weed has more chances to develop indoor and results in a plant more potent than thosegrown in the traditional way, on Earth.

As a result of the ban, care must be taken with imitations of marijuana or any other drug. New chemicals are emergingworldwide and copies of cannabis are not exception. In the case of alleged bath salts that are selling around, whichalthough not theoretically be made for consumption, or smoke, contains cannabinoids that emulate the effects ofmarijuana, but are composed of legal products, this does not mean in any way that they are less dangerous.

So, one more point for us. When someone tells you that the traffic is not going to end because the bulk comes from other drugs, you can already tell that this myth was overthrown. Maybe the traffic not quench of time, but at least he will beweakened. And with so many people out there enjoying a cigarette and artist numbers exponents, it's past time for thatdiscussion be taken seriously.
